The Senior State League has now concluded and North Coast had two senior teams in the hunt for pennants for the F Grade Men and E Grade Teal women.
The F Grade men came home with a fantastic victory over Dolphins with a 5-2 win. The men were looking out gunned at the start, with Dolphins carrying a full squad of substitutes, but North Coast got on the front foot early and even though they had injured and ill players in the pool (Ryan and Dan) they kept pushing on and grabbed the goals when they counted, and were backed up by a brilliant goal keeping performance by Matt.
Well done boys.
The E grade Teal Women facing a youthful and skilled Melville team, but fought neck and neck all game with North Coast getting off to a great start and then the match swinging in both directions with a highly competitive game. It was looking as though it was going to go to penalties and North Coast thought we had a penalty call at the end of the game, but was played on by the ref's broke the north coast hearts and Melville took the pennant 9-8.
We should be extremely proud of our players and our club, getting to finals isn't easy, especially as a small club, but we keep doing it year on year and its a great example of of our team spirit, coaching quality and hard work and determination.
